RE: OP-COM v6 with "fake MCU" REPAIR
As I can see this tool has a diffrent design then the real opcom v5 clone
So the problems could be in the hardware tool or in bad flashing of firmware
But if you upgraded the firmware using opcom software or OCflash then I suppose that there is a diffrent hardware design with a diffrent firmware
Well try to reflash the tool with original firmware that it had before upgade it.
See if the k-line is working again
Good luck

RE: OP-COM v6 with "fake MCU" REPAIR
If I do not make a mistake that tool is made in Russia
That tool it has a diffrent desine then a china clone ( that its 1:1 with opcom rev b genuibe obe but with a diffeen pcb designe )
So in this case this tool is useing a diffren firmware, a small moded one for that schematic. I only supoose.
Never had this kind of tool in my hand
Similar is happend with the chinese opcom v6 hardware
If you are useing it with opcom china clone 2010 all its ok but if you change the software and you are useing it with vauxcom 120309a the tool is not working on k-line.
Just because the hardware its moded and the firmware its moded for this gardware too
If this is your problem then to fix this issue you need a untouched tool, same as the one you have. Extract the Pic MCU dump and reflash with your tool
So if you reflashed back you tool with the same firmware as this time and its not working on k-line then you have to check the relay for pin 7 and then the 9637D ( if it is used this chip )
Keep us informed
Goid luck

RE: OP-COM v6 with "fake MCU" REPAIR
Info for Opcom firmwire hunters:
One more chinese fraud about opcom... congrats
Opcom v6 PCB now looks like original PIC 18F458 from Microchip, but stil is FAKE, chinese fraudsters mooning not write "OPCOM" anymore on top of PIC chip, now is new inscription...
LEFT PIC=CHINESE FAKE <-->RIGHT PIC=ORIGINAL MICROCHIP

RE: OP-COM v6 with "fake MCU" REPAIR
Yes right but take a look for more indentification:
There is a D5 and C22
When you have that two components on PCB you have to know that its OPCOM v6 hardware too
Good luck

RE: OP-COM v6 with "fake MCU" REPAIR
Is a 18F45K80 renamed, in fact. All times was 18F45K80, first renamed in "opcom", this renamed in 18F 458.

RE: OP-COM v6 with "fake MCU" REPAIR
Hi,

After a alot of searching, i still wasn't able to find any identical OPCOM_NEW PCB with such a FTDI chip. Did someone already see one like this? What kind of FTDI chip is that? Is the firmware variable? Thanks in advance.

RE: OP-COM v6 with "fake MCU" REPAIR
FTDI RQ is similar FTDI RL
But the most important is the PIC MCU
If its fake you waist your money
Good luck

Thank you for your help. So, FTDI chip itself seems to be a real one? Regarding the MCU, i'll try to obtain a better picture.
