That is interesting, reports of failed scn are around but with clones and cracked software. So I assume is something to do with MB more then software/hardware.

Im not sure, but maybe the sustitution of REGIO/HLI/ETC disc, with and special rack server/datacenter whatever that may have all the software updated inside. Then you have ready flash system without need of any cd/dvd disk.
