this may not be the correct place to ask but all BMW experts are here there are so many BMW programms out there which one is the best for general use i find them all cryptic at best i tried to install a new frm module this week and gave up i have ISTA-P which i have never managed to get to work ISTA-D works fine but not for programming then you have all the others INPA,NCS,WIN-FKP,TOOL32 there may be more but why does one maufaturer have so many diagnostic platforms are they all so bad they have to bring out another.

Please, open a new thread - this one is just for ISTA-D Standalone and not for commercial questions about BMW software!

I have, maybe stupid, question about fixes of basic features database and VIN HW mod, which was needed for versions before 4.17.4x (as I see last thread about 4.17 version). 

Do we need still this for 4.20.xx version ? 

If yes, could you please shortly describe what will not work without these fixes ?
