AF should be Version 0976
CN should be Version 1421
Might be possible that you also need the DF one.

DF is only a Bugfix, where Audi recalls all Cars with MIB2 Units. In some cases, people drove the car with music in mute or very low volume and suddently a bug puts the volume to 100% while driving. it will scare the hell out of you, if this happens. 

Also they changed Version to MHI2_AUXX_SXXXX, so if you have MHI2_AUG22_K2156 they make a S2156 from it. ppl now telling, they can not update to 4M0906961AF because of Error "Train not supported" but have older firmware on it like S0358
CN is now like you told 1421

The S-Firmwares now in the supported trains in metainfo2.txt of K2161. So this Update must be brand new, newer than the recall patch DF, because it knows already about it.

I will go now to update my mib2 and check if it works right.

K2161 is now on my Unit, but tried to apply SVM Code over Online: MHI2ER2161 and also tried MI2HEU2161G22 (like on 2156) but both SVM Codes are unknown, maybe to new atm.

Bose Sound is gone from 0358 -> 2161 had to apply new parameters with VCP.

For SVM Code Users, better go first to 2156 with Firmware 4M0906961AF - make SVM with MI2HEU2156G22 then it also gets the Bose parameters, afterwards go up to 2161, because Bose Firmware is the same. SVM from 2156 was accepted, but tells me that on unit is other software

I was under impression that it has to do with security issues outlined here: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/se...e-hacking/ Maybe this is the reason why they simply patch the already installed firmwares and just change the version to indicate the changes - thus breaking the upgrade process as noted.

I have MHI2_ER_AUG22_P2116 (0333) in my A4 and I haven't dared to install MHI2_ER_AUG22_K2156 (0976) from SD card in red menu because I've read the reports about sound issues after the upgrade on Bose systems. My A4 has a B&O sound and I'm not sure if it's affected in the same way as Bose is. I only have a access to VCDS - can anyone tell me if I can somehow save parameters of MMI/B&O and restore them via VCDS if new fw breaks it? Or maybe someone with B&O did an update from SD card and can confirm that there were no sound issues after the update?

VCDS can not save or insert Parameters. Without VCP you also can not enable Green menu or? Diagnostic Session must be changed to engineering diagnostics Session.

On Green Menu under SWDL i have the possibility to mark User definied Mode. Then you can demark everything, what has to do with Sound Amplifers at the Update.

Just use K2156 (0976), i already thinking about a downgrade from K2161(1421) 4M0906961CN because Versioninformation now showing something like MHI2_AUG22_PROD11K3 and not like before K2156. It looks like not properly finished firmware.
Also didn't found any Bugfix, no new features, and Telnet also not working. But this also stopped weeks ago on K2156 (0976). Maybe if i downgrade on 2156 Telnet is comming back.

For hacktivations like Car play and other things like map Updates without official license, Telnet is mandatory.

I haven't tried it but green menu should be possible as decribed: https://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread....nits/page4. Since my VCDS interface can't talk to some of newer modules it might be a better solution to move onto something newer.

No telnet is as showstopper. If I understood you correctly telnet didn't work for you on K2156 also? I think that the the MIB2 updates versioned SXXXX disable telnet (hopefully only on LTE and not on WiFi also) because of security findings I've mentioned earlier. If that's the case then non SXXXX versions should have a working telnet.

I also have this issue and the worse is my "free" map updates are blocked earlier as allowed by Audi !! I told them, they say that normally I can have new map update until end of 2020 !! But they can't give me a way to repair this.

So I decided to try to patch the K3663 firmware but the wifi telnet access does not work anymore. Do will I more chance with a Dlink network adaptor ?

That seems very strange indeed. I have been running 976 for quite a while and still have wifi access. Others I know are the same. My understanding is "DF" appears to update the pf.conf and block remote access ports. I think dlink still works. Interesting about the volume issue.. was that in a TPI? Would be great to find release notes for these trains.


Can anyone PM zip password as I still haven't got a reply from Sergio as I would like to analyse what is getting blocked with this update?

Also, I think this version may add the FM Radio Database so you can add station images against the FM Stations. Would be nice if RDS+ was replaced with RDS!

I think all the newer versions will have the pf.conf file updated to block certain connections to the MMX and RCC boards.

ie For 4M0906961AF and CN, for MMX2/eifs/ folder the subfolder is "/20" whereas for 4M0906961CS it is  "/50"?

Comparing CN with CS, it appears CS contains the FMLogoDatabase function... I cannot see any new functionality with CN (after a first fast glance).

i was thinking about another hardware revision with 20 and with 50. but no one can really tell because the train is not for our K2161. maybe for replacement units or newer P Trains. there must be a software like for AU57 with all supported trains to go up there.

i'm not very happy with 4M0906961 CN Software - no changes and my telnet is also not reachable. wanted to patch the mibroot there and activate infinite nav map updates ... downgrade also not possible anymore.
