But OP says his SZL is part # 9136898 which ETK does not distinguish between AL and non-AL versions!

What ETK say for FRM in E90

When You buy new SZL you got full option. It will work in all versions. But used one are different for AL(works also without AL) and non-AL car.

3 years ago I have the same problem with E61 2004 year(old key). AFS don't see steering angle from SZL(always 0 ).
When I change to correct SZL it will work, and AFS Startup goes without problem

FINALLY, DONE, SOLVED!
I bought SZL 6945112 from eBay. Received today, programmed and coded and BOOM - it works. After all these years, I cannot believe it. I'm so happy, thanks Node and cursor and also others for their help and participation. Finally can close this chapter. Thanks.
