Audi MMI 3GP acios_db.ini file
Hi all, have converted my MMI to from RoW and are trying to load NZ maps. Maps appear to install however the navdatabaseinfo in the green menu says no acios_db.ini file can be found and the maps are stuck on 'initialisng'. There is also no map version shown on System info.
Any idea on what i'm stuck on? it feels so close but yet still not there Or if possible, is anyone able to paste their acios_db.ini file contents so I can make one the same? bit of guess work on how that looks at the moment. Thanks! |

RE: Audi MMI 3GP acios_db.ini file
Is the Firmware the right one for your area ?
In Green Menu you changed the area for map database ? You can set there different regions like EU, Asia and so on. When yes you maybe can try to format the harddisc over green menu and apply again the maps. If my answer helped to fix anything, then don't forget to give me some rep please!

RE: Audi MMI 3GP acios_db.ini file
Hello, yes EU->RoW is apparently what I need. Have tried with 942 and 900 firmware. Have also
changed the green menu region to RoW and 'Australia' and are trying to install the AN (Australian) maps. I have also tried formatting the nav partition and applying the maps again, with the same result. They always install, reboots, and no acios_db.ini file is created. experience in the UI is that nav loads to about 46% then goes into a permanent 'initialising maps' screen. Interestingly enough there is a 'checknavdb' option in the green menu, which when run explicity deletes the acios_db.ini file and reboots (have dumped the contents of the MMI unit to SD card and found the script being executed). Assumption here is that the acios_db.ini file is meant to be rebuilt either after install, or whenever the 'checkdb' function is run. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be being rebuilt. if i knew what one looked like I could just copy it onto the MMI with adjustments as appropriate. Only thing I've found is on GPSPower.net where they're making frankestein maps from audi/bmw files for peugeot and citreons (which is something i'll try once i get this going as there's pretty much no audi maps available for RoW but BMW ones from the same gen are everywhere). I've given this a punt but haven't had much success (looks like their ones run of SD card and I'm not sure if the format or keywords are correct). |
