I have recently read about a way to update NTG 4.5 maps for free.

Procedure
For this, you will need 2 (can also be done with 1) SD cards / USB storages.

1. They must be formatted to FAT32. (Windows will not format to FAT32 if storage is higher than 32GB, in this case, use EaseUS).
   
2. The way it works is, you need to copy the files of the maps version you have, onto the first SD card. (Files attached below).
   
3. Then, insert the second card into your PC, and start up the Comand Download manager.
   Download the updated map version you wish to install onto the second card.
4. Go to your car, and insert the first SD card, containing the files for the map version you currently have. It usually takes 5-10 seconds, after which, a pop-up shows up, asking if you want to re-install the map (reinstalling requires no PIN).
   
5. DO NOT PRESS ANYTHING, and insert the second SD card, containing the updated map version files.
   
6. Press yes, and enjoy your new free map!
   

FAQ:
If my map is US, India, or any other country, can I install EU maps?
No, you can not. You must convert your HU to the other country.

Will my installation be compromised, if my Comand restarts?
No, you can turn off your car/Comand at any time, during the update, and when turned on, it will resume.

What happens if I accidentally press on YES, before inserting the second card?
You must reinstall the current version, and then repeat the procedure.

Issue is finding earlier maps for North America.

17, 18, and 19 are pretty current.

My car had like version 6 maps to start, all but impossible to find. Lucky if you currently have 17 or 18...
