I've got a clone VAS 5054A device which I can connect to with my laptop via Bluetooth. It shows up in the Softing EDIC Config Manager and is configured in there. When I open up ODIS it shows me being connected to the car and the ignition being on.

However, it never finds the VIN for the car and if I try it manually, it can't communicate with the CAN and never finds any of the installed modules.

Is it my copy of ODIS or the VAS device that's at fault?

I have used 5.1.3 and working fine also with car 2018(Audi RS3,Golf 7.5)

Yes, I extracted them and ran the update. It took a while to import them into the database. It did ask to update when I opened it earlier but I just assumed it did this every so often so I just clicked cancel.

The version I have was supplied when I bought the VAS 5054 device. Is there a better version from here I can download?

ODIS-S 5.1.6 is also available on this forum. I use a very old chines clone of VAS5054 and it works with the modified VAS5054 Softing folder.
