F10 failed software update with ISTA
Hi all, I have a bit of a nightmare with this F10 BMW. Was doing a software update with ISTA and the computer was knocked off the desk LAN cable disconnected. Now car does not start, no modules are talking with ISTA.
I can still see ZGW with E-Sys but not able to calculate SVT. Any help will be much appreciated! I am in a panic mode atm |

I can feel your pain. Been there. Just take a deep breath. Can you still get the FA? At what point in update did the fail occur? Was there a control unit flash going? Can you turn on KL15?

Don’t think anything was being programmed when it got disconnected but no KL15
I have reconstructed FA manually. |

RE: F10 failed software update with ISTA
If nothing was being programmed, then it's not so bad. It's often the case that you can't turn on KL15 after failed flash. You need to remove the negative battery terminal for a minute. Then reconnect, you should have KL15 back.
After you crash enough software updates you stop worrying. |

Lol I don’t think I ever going to stop worrying
Disconnecting the battery was my first step and I think it made it worse as now nothing comes up on the dashboard. |

RE: F10 failed software update with ISTA
I would try to do a hole update with E-sys. Why you can´t calculate SVT?

RE: F10 failed software update with ISTA
I think that ZGW module is stuck in some programming mode.
If I try to read FA I get an error telling me that there is no FA stored. So I just load my own FA. Calculating SVT throws an error about logic part 9385182 is not orderable? |

RE: F10 failed software update with ISTA
Maybe your own FA not 100% right, something with the date. But you can try to restore the orginal FA as an Backup from CAS. You will find it in the VCM at E-sys.
Or Post your vin, i can get the org. FA for you. |
