Mk5 Golf GTI - KESS Read Error
Hello
When I try to read a Golf GTI Med9.1 ecu via OBD with a Kess clone it goes to about 30% then stops. The Kess manual says to connect the blue wire to the OBD cable for a +12v signal. Do I connect a 12v power source to this or is it supposed to plug in somewhere? The end of the wire looks like it goes over an ecu pin? Thanks |

RE: Mk5 Golf GTI - KESS Read Error
Did you connect a 12V charger to the battery? If yes, then you should have ~14.4V voltage. Without it might be to low voltage for reading the ECU

Try to set the read speed to minimum.

I'm using a clone kess. I can't see anywhere to change the read speed. Sorry if I'm being stupid, this is new to me

Another forum says I need a BDM100 to read the MED9.1. Can kess not do this via OBD or even with the bench harness?
