ZSeat  F30 PDC Volume is too low quiet
I retrofitted the Harmon Kardon sound system into my F30 SA 688 upgrading from base audio. However now my PDC volume is low. Gongs are ok. I’ve adjusted it via the menu and it’ still quiet. Any ideas?

RE: F30 PDC Volume is too low quiet
I I’ve only fitted 4 door speakers and two front tweeters as well the underfloor subs.
2 rear parcel shelf speakers and tweeters have not been fitted. 2 rear door tweeters have not been fitted due to needing new door cards or cutting the existing ones which I haven’t got around to. And the dashboard speaker has not been fitted.
The gongs sound fine. The pdc seems to sound quietly and even cut off for less than a second then comes back.

Possible firmware flash needed?

I did a Alpine HiFi upgrade 2 years ago, I also noticed that the read PDC is a bit quite after coding.

Also, at the begin the music sound decreased from its self, that's also gone.

you need rear shelf speakers as well , the PDC sound is playing on the middle speakers as well as rear speakers , having only door speakers or rear shelf speakers will lead to low PDC sound .

flashing or coding wont solve your problem , the idea or $688 retrofit is for better sound , better sound comes with 13 speakers installed in the car including the middle dash speaker , if you didn't install middle dash speaker then probably you didn't notice that navigation guide voice is very low too .

Thank you for this. Makes sense. Will get the rest fitted!

I have read about this on various forums. I’m not sure if a fix was found. Some people just removed the hifi coding.

RE: F30 PDC Volume is too low quiet
Removing hifi just make the sound rubbish.

Got used to it.

RE: F30 PDC Volume is too low quiet
I am aware that perhaps it is not usefull, cause I am talking about my MINI F56. I code my radio from "stereo"to "HIFI". Now the sound is much better, but the PDC volume is lower than before.

If I helped you, please press THANKS & REPUTATION
