i recently picked up a clone pair of KTAG and KESS. was trying to read the MED17.1.1 ECU from audi S7 4.0TT  and what happens is strange. it does read the ECU but it appears to give me garbage. I get no ID or software numbers or anything back from the ECU either. when i read the EEPROM part of the S7 ECU that appeared to read fine. I tried to read a VW GTI ECU i had on a shelf that is MED17.1 and KTAG did ID that ECU properly but still gave me a garbage file. 

I attached the dump of both internal flash and eeprom. hopefully someone can shed some light on what im doing wrong or if this thing is junk.

i had problems with all MED17XXX ecu,s with clone kess/ktag tools genuine no problems at all.

i fixed the problem. i had to install the vcredist_x86.exe file in the drivers folder and it worked perfectly after that.
