All, 

I am preparing myself to retrofit hud in my 2015 f10 with right hand side steering wheel and I was about to order original used windscreen from Europe to be fitted to my car in U.K.  
however I was told by the seller that it might not fit my car as hud reflective coating is on the left side and will not work with right hand side hud. 
Is this true?
I checked realoem/bummer at and other sites and they are coming with the same part numbers for both left and right hand steering wheel. 
I am considering one of: 51317333835, 51317333831. 
Also as far as I know it is not really coating but rather 3rd layer of the glass itself.

If I understand hud correctly, it is nothing but just a light projector.
Therefore it should be very easy to test, if there really are 2 different windscreens for left and right steering wheel.
What I did with my non hud windscreen I've put my phone with full white screen at max brighness on the dash where hud should be.
I can clearly see 2 images created by glass reflection- one by inner and one by outer side of the glass.

Can anybody who owns HUD put his/her phone on both left and right side and confirm please that on hud side there is just one image, but on the other two?

On E60 there definitely was an area with special cover near the HUD. On F10 there seem to be no such area and part numbers are the same for both LHD and RHD. So you should be OK with those parts. But why won't you buy aftermarket windscreen? One made by Pilkington is OEM quality, would be brand new (no scratches, etc) and should cost about 300€ (at least it costs like that here and this is the 51317333835 version - even with thermal coating). I image shipping one should be near that price.
