AK90+ EWS4.4 Strange Problem...

XZBMW  AK90+ EWS4.4 Strange Problem...
I have the AK90+ software, using AK90+ 3.19 software.  I also have the EWS4 adapter so I don't have to solder wires each time.

I can read the EWS4 fine, I was able to unlock a key and write back to the EWS module.  I was also able to read the data, save the bin, then write the data to a different EWS4 module (effectively cloning it) and it worked... so far so good, BUT, and here's where I'm having a weird problem.

I want to add new keys, I tick 2 boxes that were unused to add the keys.  I write back to EWS, it takes a little while and says "Write OK".  But it doesn't actually do anything... as in, the 2 new keys I added are NOT in fact added.  They are not ticked when I re-read the EWS, and putting the module in the car, only the original keys work (as expected) but not the new ones.  No matter what I do or try, it never "accepts" new keys even though it says "Write OK".

What I can't figure out, is, how come locking/unlocking a "used" key works, how come I can clone the EWS data to a different EWS module -> Proving that the Writing IS writing, and yet it refuses to actually ADD a new key sad

Has anyone come across this before?

If it makes any difference, the EWS4 module is from a 2008 BMW Z4 E86

The new key is made by dump but not in the reverse order.
If you are trying to write a key to a dump, then you most likely will have a different password.

Huh??

I've coded about 30+ vehicles all EWS3 perfectly fine.  I would read the EWS, save the bin file, Write to the new keys, Tick the new key boxes I intended to add then write back to the EWS.  You have to write back to the EWS so it knows that the new keys you've added are active.  I'm using the same process I have done many times before.

Also, what password do you refer to? There's no mention of passwords within the software and no way to enter a password even if I wanted.  I've never been asked or had to do anything password related

RE: AK90+ EWS4.4 Strange Problem...
Ak90+ only support EWS4.3 not EWS4.4
You are lucky that the car starts.

AutoKodowanie - coding - programming - navigations - retrofit.
