Hi i dont know if its the right section to ask.
But few weeks ago my ecu fail. Bmw e90 320d 2005
The problem its that the old one can't be fixed and i need to get anothet one. My question its i can just replace the ecu or i have to take the whole think  keys and that box for keys and ecu? Or its another wai only to replace the ecu and the car work? Thank you!

can you read the old ECU FULL BDM?

or have you already read the eeprom from the old ECU?

Just do a full BDM clone of your old ecu then transfer to replacement. You will need ktag or similar. Good luck.

If new ecu is same numbers as old one you can clone, make backup of both ecu with ktag first. 

Immo data is stored in eprom, you may have to resync the cas dde with diag tool afterwards

What i did i could read and save the file throw the odb port by kess.  But the problem its that i cand read the old ecu at all i send it to some guys and they said its gone and it cant be read at all

Then read the eprom with a programmer and write it to new ecu... you may need to take the eprom off the board but not always. If you do take it off use hot air

If you get same number "new" ecu try just to swap the eeprom....

Hi guys. I buy another ecu keys the whole kit. Do i have to go in a garage to a mechanic and register something? Or i can do all by myself? What i mean its. If its working to change the ecu keys and the port where you put the key in the ignition.

All you need now is transfer eeprom and some flash data to the donor ecu, otherwise you will turn to the not small project. You can try swap second hand ecu+cas+key to your car, but it's not 100% you can start it.
