Peugeot 206 Speedo Problem
Hello to all.
We have done a major transplant between 2 Peugeot 206s. Donor car is 2003 Peugeot 206 1.4 hdi, with aircon. Receiving car is 2002 Peugeot 206 1.4 hdi , with sunroof, no aircon . We changed everything - engine gearbox , bsi , ecu front struts - almost everything except the cars own wiring loom. We also have not moved the aircon over to the receiving car. Now we are between a rock and a hard place. PP2000 is giving faults on the airbags and brakes because of the speed sensor. Here is the issue 1.) The receiving car used to have the sensor on the gearbox, the donor did not - we think it picks it up from the wheels. 2.) The little blue connectors to join the wiring on the struts (brakes etc) to the car wiring loom are different between cars. We can think of three solutions - Solution 1 If we change the cars wiring loom over from one car to the other (nice big job) we will solve the speed sensor problem but what about the different wiring to the radiator fan ? And what about the wiring for the sunroof ? Solution 2 If we use the receiving cars older engine wiring loom it will have the wiring for the gearbox speed sensor, and we can fit a new speed sensor to the gearbox because it currently has a blanking plate - however , will it transmit correctly to the donor bsi/ecu combination ? Solution 3 If we cut off the blue connectors and solder on compatible ones , what will happen ? Any advice greatly appreciated. |

RE: Peugeot 206 Speedo Problem
You need to configure car to tell it its got no ABS and then it should pick up off the gearbox sensor. The BSI is configured to pick up from an ABS sensor at present that's not there so no speedo. Been a while since I have had this issue but it is a simple configuration that can be changed with planet 2000 or a dec superscan 2 or 3.Changing the loom wont do much as its a configuration issue. Only way round it would be to fit the ABS unit and all the sensor looms and sensors as this is what the BSI is looking for a present. Easier to reconfigure BSI.

To reconfigure that in BSI, is it just at ECU present> ABS/ASR/ESP then set from present to absent or need to do anywhere else? thanks Brs, (29-08-2014, 19:34 PM)dynamicsteam Wrote: You need to configure car to tell it its got no ABS and then it should pick up off the gearbox sensor. Peugeot 206 Speedo Problem - FIXED
Hello to all.
All problems now fixed and a very calm dashboard. We changed all the wiring looms from the 2003 car to the 2002 car and changed and rebuilt the rear axle too. We also moved over the ABS block and all the brake pipes (as they were different) ABS light stayed on for about 1km but is now functioning properly. Changing the temp sensor for a new one solved loads of problems. Once again thanks to all |
