Golf 7 ACC How to force Component Protection

RE: Golf 7 ACC How to force Component Protection
The easiest way to force CP static error - is to put that radar to another MQB vehicle.
In this case you are not required to use geko online access to run CP off and quickly remove VAS head. But putting radar to another vehicle requires at least presence of gw high in that vehicle though (temporary wiring to GW CAN extended + power and ground lines).

@red100:
Yes the trick I posted works for 3Q radars.
Unfortunately I cannot get the change of public key in my current car equipped with 2Q0 radar. Even when I force the static CP error the public key stays 83 D8 xy and is not changing to the required A6 2C xy sad Removing the bumper to access the radar to connect to another vehicle is no option for me.

2Q0 up to sw372 without any problem, sw383 and newer need trics for change public key.

well with 383 once flashed with bootloader and after the cp is done online .even if the public key is not changed to A6... it wil accept all swaps afterward...did this more than 10 times

Did you flash Bootloader before flashing X383? Or when?
Thank you

RE: Golf 7 ACC How to force Component Protection
Yes for me it was also the same public key not changed, I have even erased old SWAPs and public key still do not changed. Then just tried to apply new SWAPs (ones from generator intended for X firmware) and they were accepted to my surprise, then after checking public key it was changed. So my suggestion is to go exactly according to steps for pACC and ignore that public key didn't changed.

According to some article I read public key change is only successfull only on new radars on used ones you will still see old ones but it will get changed after try of applying of new SWAPs.

RE: Golf 7 ACC How to force Component Protection
I know this is old thread, but fast with activating of SWaPs.

Have radar 3QF907572D H11 which I have flashed to 5Q0907572M X720 and triggered CP by connecting to another MQB car.

Now, public key didn't changed to 9C 47 73... according to instruction , but I followed david99 and continue with procedure and successfully transfer new SWaP, but on SWaP activation I'm getting error:

Status: "incorrect sign"
Value: "Procedure cannot be performed, incorrect sequence (SID: $31 NRC: $24)"

(NOTE: Performing everything on the bench)

Any idea ?

RE: Golf 7 ACC How to force Component Protection
Can anybody shed some llight on the trick with 2Q0 907 572 T radars with sw above 0383?
No matter how hard I try, the key doesn't change and when I try do the activations I get "Incorrect signature error".
Is it safe to flash an older bootloader 2Q0 907 572 H 0380 and X sw 2Q0 907 572 S X381?

RE: Golf 7 ACC How to force Component Protection
I had the same problem on an 2Q0 Radar on Tiguan. Drove me nuts, and took 2 days of my life. I tried to delete/deactivate the Swaps and at the end i was giving up, and removed CP on X-Firmware as last action before flashing to normal firmware.

After CP was removed with X-Firmware which has worked, I checked the public key for the last time, and at that moment after CP removal, it changed to the A6 2C Public Key and it was possible to use the generator. then i flashed to normal firmware and installed the dataset.

After installation of dataset, coding was 00000... and the adaption channels were all set wrong or everything was gone. so before you do anything here, get some backup of the adaption channels, because there was a adaption channel called IDE13334-reduced radar performance and it was original set to 38, which is not documented, and got some other value after dataset.

Because of this, i got some error like radar sensor broken. thx god i saved it with vcds tool before. after setting it again error could be deleted.

I think I used the last X-Firmware with 383, but it was like 2 years ago

If my answer helped to fix anything, then don't forget to give me some rep please!

This will result in unfinished CP removal process and will trigger the CP and changes the public SWaP key to the required one.

how exactly do you need to do it please? should i remove the radar protection?
thank you mic for the advice. I also flashed firmware X, but the protection is always on.
