BMW E46 Mileage Change - How?
Does anyone have a step by step guide how to change mileage of an E46?
I have BMW Scanner, AK90, R270.
I know how to do the LCM but that’s how far my knowledge goes.

080 chip inside cluster, need a programmer for this and you can make it.
Take it easy with needles as stepmotors breakes on those cluster easy.

RE: BMW E46 Mileage Change - How?
1.) With Scanner read the KOMBI which eeprom is inside?
2.a) If it with 93S/C66 than can you change the mileage with BMW Scanner, only you will need a 200KHz frequency generator! Done!
2.b) Take apart the KOMBI and desoldered the 35080
3.) read it with R270 and change the mileage. Done!

thats it!

Also need do LCM. Can be done with bmwscanr. If you wish, you can also fix ews with a programmer, but not necessarily.

It is the 35080. I Can read it and just write a new mileage? I thought the m35080 i needed first to reset mileage to zero and then program to correct mileage? Dont want to leave traces.
Thanks for the help!!

RE: BMW E46 Mileage Change - How?
You don't need to make LCM at all, you can just make cluster.
Never had any issues this way, no red dot or anything else at all.

I'm not familiar with R270 so i don't know the power of it. But most new/good programmers will solve it for you withouth any issue, dont need to make 0 or anything else. Just write new mileage and it is good to go.

Yes thanks. LCM i Can do.
EWS i still would like to know what to dosmile. Is it resetting key memory?
Or do i need to take out the EWS as well?

RE: BMW E46 Mileage Change - How?
If you can read with AK thencan you reset the mileage in EWS, then if you usethe kes, overwrites itself the key.

RE: BMW E46 Mileage Change - How?
With R270 first make 0 then put mileage you want, sometimes it will say eeprom not found or read error, take the chip out of reader and clean the pins and reseat it and try again.
