Hey,
I'm struggling with European seats in US car in Audi A7 4G. The previous owner replaced original, US seats with European S-Line which have completely different seat occupancy detection and it's not working at all. I've got an airbag warning all the time and I guess, the passenger airbag is not working because of that, no matter if the seat is occupied or not. Is there any way to recode the Airbag Module (4G0 959 655 A) to make it work properly with the European seats? I'll be grateful for any help. |

RE: Recoding US Audi A7 airbag module to support European passenger detection
Coding is only possible 1 time in this units. in some units you can change it in the eeprom directly, but then still you have to know the right coding.
but i think you can disable the sensor in adaptations. search for the channel and then put it on disabled. you will get an permanent error when scanning it, but all lights and warnings will go out, and the system will be working like it should. |

Thanks for the reply. I found an option to disable the sensor, but then it shows 2 errors (as you said):
9442816 - Front Passenger's Airbag Disabled Indicator Lamp (MIL ON - Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear) 9445971 - Seat occupied recognition control module The problem is the first one causes Airbag warning lamp to be on all the time. |

yeah, because this error point to a non working airbag indicator light. this should be the light near the interior lights on the roof. is that in the car? if so, check if it has 12v on one side, and connection with airbag controller pin 81 (White/purple wire)

It's in the centre console, but this error disappears when I enable seat occupancy again, so it's powered properly I believe.

I can't find an option to activate it, is it in Airbag module or Instruments?
Anyway, when I delete the errors, it lits up for a while and then turns off, so it seems it is related to the disabled PODS. |
