Way back I done immo off for this car, 2008 golf tdi all is good except the immo errors on dash, the car has to go through test soon and the warning is covering the odometer reading,  can I use vcds on this car to match the original key to the dash to remove errors or does it have to be a new key,  or is there another way to do it ?  Cheers.

If you switch the IMMO back ON and learn new key it will be OK. Possible with VCDS with no problem, just nedd to know the PIN of the car.
Send the ECU EEP here and we can tell you what the PIN is. Also send a VCDS full scan here in order to discover the problem.

Hi sazimam, the original problem was the key reader around the ignition, this was replaced with a new one but still had the problem, sometimes a non starter, so the guy didn't want to put any more money into the car so decided on immo off, I have the pin, thanks for the reply

Hi all, I tried to match the key with the car but vcds says key not suitable for adaptation, what do I have to do to get rid of these safe/immobiliser active warnings from the cluster ? Cheers.

You can make immo off in dash, but on that year i think you will have ABS issue after

Thanks for the reply lupu_sandu, I'll get the cluster from the guy and see what we're dealing with, all I know is that it has the large lcd and the immo warning is taking up the whole screen, the guy is worried that it won't pass test because odometer reading is not visible unless dash is switched off, cheers

Odometer is visible also when you press reset ttrip meter I think ?

Conect dash on bench with fvdi read eeprom and flash save make virgin (reset to favtory state ) and reprogram all the keys again and safe should go away

Read 24c32 and put in service mode and write.
After connect cluster and write again eeprom from obd read immodata and prepare cip id48.

Guys, there are no keys problems here.
Main problem was that the car stopped working with a valid key (give error about coil)
