RE: GODIAG Diagnostic Tool for BMW
I was about to buy this, instead of a real ICOM (since it's SO much cheaper) -- was told by the seller that GoDiag does what I need (which is to update the car's software on my F48, to try to address a rough idle issue that apparently a BMW update fixes). Is this truly not a good device to buy (GoDiag v600-bm specifically)?

I have an enet cable already - thought I needed an ICOM for the full software update? If not, what is the ICOM useful for exactly?

Do others agree as well? Has anyone had a good experience with the GoDiag?

If not, you just saved me $200 - thank you!

RE: GODIAG Diagnostic Tool for BMW
There's a reg key in the ista installer folders to enable enet programming, obviously at your own risk. You should always follow guides depending on what software you're using as multiple ip's might be required and may need to run a DHCH server or risk programming aborts.

I've used one of these GODIAG V600's for nearly 12 months, admittedly was tricky with early firmwares but support is actually okay now and you'll get a response within 24 hours if you email them.

Tested with ista up to 4.33 along with esys & inpa etc with no issues. Wireless too and the pcb quality is way better than some of the China ICOM's (had 2 that failed within a year) and the best thing is even when connected for a long session it doesn't get hot, which inspires some confidence, my last icom died after a long session and wouldn't boot up again and I'd made all the recommended fixes to resolve factory issues with the wrong value resistors.

Definitely feels faster when programming/coding than enet, might do a comparison between both on a full car test, see if it's a placebo effect

This is super helpful, thank you! You mention "up to 4.33", but have you tried (or can someone else confirm) that it works with ISTA 4.36.40 or higher? Don't want to buy a device only to find out that the ISTA I worked so hard to set up isn't supported :/
