Noob Question Porsche Boxster 986 cluster dump
Hi.
I want to read out my 93c86 chip of my BoxsterS 986 facelift instrument cluster. I have TL866A programmer. Can sombody tell me if it is possible to read and write the chip with this programmer? I've changed my instrument cluster to a version with the better graphic dot matrix display but want to correct the mileage. Is it right the mileage is stored in lines 300&310 and 500&510 in a 2kb dump file? My thougt is to copy these lines to the new cluster. Any recommendation to use the programmer? I found a pdf instruction. The author recommend to short the crystal on the PCB. Am I right I dont need any power supply to the PCB? It is enough to connect the 93c86 with an IC clamp? Thanks |

I would never read eeproms on the circuit board. Always unsolder. I don't know the programmer, but it should read your Eeprom ST 93C86 without any problems.
