Distronic Plus Retrofit Issue on a 2010 C350
Hello mates
I tried to retrofit Distronic plus + Active lane keep assist + Active Blind spot assist + SLA on a 2010 WDD204056. VRDU, ESP Premium, yaw rate sensor, Distronic ECU, DTR sensors on front bumper, blind spot sensors on rear bumper, multifunction camera with LVDS plug, MRM, Steering wheel and Comand were supplied from a 2013 full radar w204 (vin: WDD2043492G267443 ) and installed on the car. Everything was going as planned, until I understood front rpm sensors do not communicate with the new esp. (in case you did not know, on a facelifted w204, front rpm sensor has a different hardware than the prefacelift model. Though appearance and shape is the same.) The big problem is that customer had already installed C63 AMG(WDD204077) wheels and axles which use RPM sensors, completely different in shape and hardware. so nor can I use rpm sensor from that donor facelift w204, because it cannot be mounted on the C63 axle or use the C63 rpm sensors because they do not communicate with the donor premium ESP. The only solution is to install a premium ESP compatible with C63 RPM sensors. But as far as I know, no W204 C63 AMG was ever originally equipped with Distronic plus / premium ESP. So I'm searching for sth which seem to be never born. Can anyone tell me which ESP premium part number can communicate with C63 RPM sensor? Or maybe the question is, "Is it possible to retrofit Distronic Plus on W204 C63 AMG?" Any help would be highly appreciated. |

Have you do coding ?
Even pre-FL non-AMG W204 has code for distronic etc. For ESP those features are hardware dependent, need to use correct hardware and do proper coding. try A2045458032, and try at your own risk. |

Speaking of the project, main codings are done but have faults inside VRDU. I could not work much on car due to the RPM sensor issue. I unplugged N62/2 and gave car "as is" to the customer. Interesting thing is that C63 RPM sensors have no problem working with original ESP of the car. I'll continue the software job after fitting the correct ESP. and I will report here. By the way, the part number you advise, does not seem to support distronic plus(code 233). If I'm checking in a wrong way, correct me. |

First of all I haven't do such retrofit, just try to share some info.
I don't think there are any W204 ESP will have 233. Just found that the software coding has distronic support but it is also hardware dependent. If you look into C63 ESP it even not showing any options code, but internally it support most of the options which W204 may have. W212 ESP has 233, but it won't fit into W204. If you have access to vary ESP will need to try. |

Despite it's an old post, I will share my experience for future visitors:
For adding 233 to a prefacelift W204, you definately need to use facelift "Front SAM", "ESP", "EZS", "Instrument cluster", "SRS" and even "TPM". You can never have 233 with old versens of those ECUs. Now that Im speaking, I've successfully retrofited all kinds of radars and retrrofits to W204, W207, W218, W212, W221, w117 and even W213. If anybody needs help, he can write here or PM me. |
