ORenult  Media Nav Storage Cards Invisible
Hello
I managed to get access to Win CE but my storage cards do not appear on my device. Is there any way that I can restore the system? Someone told me about something called INAND TOOL and RGM3 NAND 5.2.7 to use but I have't got it or I have no use how to use it.

Thanks

RE: Media Nav Storage Cards Invisible
Go to memory option in Control Panel and see if the device sees the card over there. Another thing, some old WinCE devices were able to work only with SD cards, and couldn't see SDHC or newer.

If you don't see any Storage Card there is quite bad, if is MN1 is the sign that NAND memory passed away. I received more and more MN1, in last time like this for fix.
INAND tool is for make a NAND dump and restore it, but if you don't have were to restore is useless.
If NAND memory is dead, these are the options:
1 - change the NAND memory on motherboard (very less people are able to do this)
2 - change the NAND memory with an SD card (very ugly procedure and also very less people able to do this). Not many clients would like to see this.
3 - change entire motherboard (the most elegant procedure and clean)

MediaNav MN2 Evolution 9.1.4 + Carbone
MediaNav MN1 Standard 4.1.0 + Super Mod 4.1 + ModRS

i think EMMC is problem...not NAND memory

In this units are 4 memories and you can call as you like, but in drawings and named as you can see down:
- MICOM flash memory used for the unit configuration
- NOR flash memory used for booting
- iNAND flash memory used for operating system and navigation
- RAM memory

Flash memory is an electronic (solid-state) non-volatile computer memory storage medium that can be electrically erased and reprogrammed. The two main types of flash memory are named after the NAND and NOR logic gates.

ahmetusta61,if after a few attempts to reset MN,the SC1..SC4 does not appear then a NAND flash is broken which is much more difficult to replace due to the adhesives below.
Yes,it looks ugly but this solution is for lifetime!
They're on it:
"Storage Card" => The Medianav system , WinCE system image and user interface
"Storage Card2" => empty partition, only to save user settings
"Storage Card3" => empty partition to decompress lgu updates before installation
"Storage Card4" => GPS navigation
But,you can remove Nand flash carefully and you have to replace SD card (microsd 4-8GB Class10)pre-saved
with the appropriate "USB Image Tool 1.72" .You must have Sd card pre-saved image RGM3 Nand_406 for MN1 or RGM3 Nand_913 for MN2

So is ... not NAND ... but is NAND.
So what you want prove? That a name like embedded MultiMediaCard (eMMC) is more important than the fact that we spoke about same circuit IC1002? Do you believe is another circuit problem?
What is the most important point for @ahmetusta61 in this case?

@vainn
Nothing is ugly if you like it and most important if you or you find someone able to do it.
If not, just distroy the mainboard, anyway not functional.
In the end why must use only a RGM3 xxxx image? If he succeed the heart operation on motheboard can use any full backup/dump of any firmware of MediaNav, of course pre-saved.

@Neek
I have been working with MN for over then 2 years and it is no problem for me to find the problem where it is or to remove NAND flash and mount SD with appropriate files.
i think in this excellent and helpful forum we need to share our knowledge and to help each other to solve the problem,in this case the problem that has @ahmetust 61

I am happy to see someone with skills for remove NAND flash and install a SD.
Me too I am working over 2 yers with these units and know almost everything about MN1, MN2 and even MN3 playing with these, even developing SW for them.
Important in this topic is for @ahmetust61 what he can do first of all itself. Later he can decide what is next.
So what, I wrote in my post #3 here is valid for him.

MediaNav MN3 Evolution 1.0.13.1 + Carbone
MediaNav MN2 Evolution 9.1.4 + Carbone
MediaNav MN1 Standard 4.1.0 + Super Mod 4.1 + ModRS
