NBT Evo retrofit install advice
Hi All,

I have just bought a 2017 B241 id5 nbt evo unit, (HW4.1) part number 8804457 (to go in my car, f25 x3 NBT to NBT EVO) and will be looking to get the GPS port added.

I've managed to get it up and running on my bench setup i have and sorted the apix for a earlier screen type (with voltage adapter). All good so far.

I've checked the running firmware and its NBTEVO_P183621, its also running 2017-2 maps with automatic updates GB/IE 2020-1.

I've ordered the OBAR plug and pins and will make a Ethernet lead to work with the ZGW 02 04SK I have as part of my bench setup.

1: If i get the GPS port done I assume i don't need an ATM and can filter. if that's the case then that's fine.

2: or will it be best to get an ATM (change the evo vin/fsc to atm) and then can filter/emulator?

3: Will the Evo unit still work with my TCM (connected drive, sos  etc) ok ? as the blue HSD/USB will then be disconnected when installed.

4: Whats the easiest way for changing the vin and FSC codes to make it plug and play to mine.

5: Can I use hutool 2.6 to generate the fsc certs/codes and then use e-sys to upload them (Never done this before using e-sys, but done loads on the older cic with fstool).

Or do you think something like the FEMtoEVO app would be the way to go or a USB loader type option.

6: is it worth updating the firmware as well, while its on the bench?

I've been going through the forums using search etc but its a lot to digest and im slowly getting to grips with it.

Any help would be most appreciated.

If your evo will have firmware of 2018, you can use hutook to patch it via usb and vin can be changed via esys

Impossible. With this release, support for apix1 has been removed.

RE: NBT Evo retrofit install advice
Apix1 screens were supported until N version (18-03), later versions have issues with black screen.
now you need to clear V850 and install N version data, then you need HuTool (DO NOT USE CRACKED HUTOOL2!!!) or HuEngineering patch to make FSC working.

MGU Patching/Virginizing.
Feature Installer codes.
Physical NBT EVO Repairs.
CarPlay activations.
Remote BMW Coding.

RE: NBT Evo retrofit install advice
its no nightmare to do. If you dont have bench just make sure you have properly wired oabr in order to flash. Just use v850 clear and then flash with 18-03 software and no issues. I can provide you the Feature codes for the v850 and the activation

Im middle of this operation and might get some questions in the future.

Having apix1 and hu was build 37/2018 so probably has higher i-level than 18-03 so going to need to downgrade it?

Secondly did you get remote services to work?
