I was able to get the pin code and long alphanumeric code, i used xhorse vvdi prog to read the info and used tango to write the new key, after that i used the vvdi prog again to write it back but i can not get the ignition to come on, i have a bench set up and on vehicle, ignition will not come on, i also have MaxiIM IM608 PRO, thats what i used to get the pin code and the long number. It shows the programmed key is a dealer key and learned key but ignition will not respond with original j518 and emulator. I made sure i used the 4kb file for the emulator but still nothing. I never had any issues like this before. With MaxiIM IM608 PRO connected to obd2 port i constantly have to turn the headlights on and press on the brake pedal to establish communication, otherwise i get no communication, like the car goes to sleep every 20 seconds even pin 1 and 16 jumped.

Sometimes you need to learn the new key via obd. For this I use vvdi2. Probably can also be done with autel IM608 as well. Also, did you secure the steering column in the unlocked position?

Yes steering column is in unlock position. I don't have vvdi2 yet but it's next on the list to get. i'm gonna take the BCM and ECU off the car and plug in everything on bench to see if anything works. I have 2 other j518s and on bench they will unlock when key is turned but when i remove the key the lock on j518 stays in the unlock position, ignition turns off, when i insert the key and turn it, ignition comes on as normal but never locks after removing the key.

It should lock when remove key
maybe bad.j518 when remove key try to knock with screw driver on j518 to see if it.lock

Hi everyone, little bit of update on the J518, i got it to work with the J518 emulator but i had to load eeprom and flash. Everyone was saying all you need is the eeprom but just with eeprom nothing would work so i uploaded eeprom and flash and it started working, used vvdi2 to sync with ecu and car started, that part of the problem is solved, new issue now is i programmed 2 keys for it but randomly J518 emulator does not recognize either key, sometimes i have to insert and remove the key multiple times for it to turn on, i even got a donor oem J518, transfered eeprom and flash into it and still does the same thing, also with another ignition switch. Anyone ever ran across an issue like this before?

Uptade, ignition switches were the issue, installed another good used ignition switch, problem solved.
