why are we clearing v850 like that on an id4evo, curious to see how many radios will be damaged due to this video.

Did clear v850 for lots of EVOs, not a single one was bricked because of that.

Tell me, how do you brick it when clearing v850?

I understand that this is not mandatory, it is mentioned in video, you can upgrade without it, but that’s just the way i do, and i share it like i do it.

i cleared v850 on maybe 50 units now and never had issues with it.

and usually v850 needs to be cleared to "downgrade" or to change region. If it's not required to upgrade from id4 to id5 then i guess dont bother running it...

I love how many professionals here are doing unnecessary work putting their hardware at risk. My absolute favorite line.....I always did it this way and never had any problems until now!

So much misinformation put out by him....

This is why videos like these are not a good idea.

Better to leave stuff like this to the experts, people that do say , 4 or 5 of these a day. 

Not some random guy on a forum.

doing vo unlock with feature installer, two times i got same problem, dont know why. reflashed headunit one more time, when launched feature installer and done vo unlock succesfull

I did : v850, e-sys programming with svt for eu (id4 was from us), feature installer - fsc pack wit vo coding fix and region unlock. Everything was done successful. Navigation was stable and working normally.

The problem came after FDL coding for miracast and text2speech. Navigation has entered the programming mode - blue screen.

VO coding with EU region was working normally. Fdl coding too.

this is not possible to corrupt whole flash with just FDL coding. you did something else there that you're not saying pal.

Other than v850 step, there isnt much wrong there. We should encourage such posters which bring transparency to these forums!
