XZBMW  BMW E64 CAS3 flash failed
Hi,

I'm currently facing a big problem, a guy tried to add a key to my car with autel im508 tool, which as I understood tried to downgrade the CAS' software in order to exploit a weakness permiting to add keys.

Downgrade flashing encountered an error mid way, and now communication with the CAS is impossible.

As I understand it can be stuck in programming mode or something else. I've tried resetting ELV counter (ast this is the only error the car was showing) but no luck. When I try to read the CAS Ecu with Carly / bimmer-tool (I don't have my PC with inpa / ista with me), it says that the control unit is not responsive.

What can I do to unlock my situation?

Car is a 2007 BMW E64 650i, without comfort access.

Remove the CAS and read eeprom and flash with bdm programmer. Post here and we can fix for you.

yep, flashing with kfp will solve it right at the car. Then he can try again smile

Update: the "key maker" owned up and paid a real professional to put everything back in order. As the car wasn't in my hands I wasn't able to test via winkfp.
