Pretty sure the edge contact blade on these Server PSUs have different contacts either side,
So if you touch both sides by securing a bolt it will fry it?

The test is after I flashed the car. Couldn`t take pictures whilst flashing as I didn`t want to open the door.
The laptop was charging, max AC on and on ignition and drain is ~30Amp, without AC is 15Amp.

Hi XuLeTZ,

Do you have a close up picture of the power cables connected to the +12v and GND connectors - did you drill through the PCB?

I've seen some people saying they've killed these PSUs by drilling through the common slot connector.

Yes, I drilled them with the smallest drill first, 4mm after and 6 for last one. After that with 6mm bolts I secured the copper terminal connectors (4awg/25mm-100Amp)
Will try a picture later when I get home, at work currently

Nop, same contact. I secured it on both sides and no problem

They are out of stock, but copper crimp connector 100Amp should find what you need for

Hey,

Thanks but I mean the part which connect to PCB or did you just use nut and bolts?

Great thread! Thanks for the info all. I used similar HP 1000w server PSU for car audio subwoofer amplifier testing smile It does work very nice.

Thanks for the pictures @dubstar90!

Seems just a nut and bolt are enough then! I shall look for a DPS-1200FB and a new soldering iron biggrin

Would a 60A automatic charger be sufficent for programming a fully charged Bmw F11?

Maybe if you doing a single module.  90-100A at a stable voltage would be minimum for BMW.
