TCM IMMO?
HI friends!
Recently got an E70 X5 35D, DME was missing!, had to order a lockset from the UK so had to wait a while, so now I have installed the lockset and all seems to be successful...engine starts and all seems good under the hood ![[Image: clapping.gif]](https://cartechnology.co.uk/images/smilies/clapping.gif) ....however not sure if I caused an issue with the TCM or was an existing old problem! As I have one fault coming up "TCM immobilizer activated"will a reprogramming of the TCM resolve this issue or will it be a bigger issue? Hope to get some advice before I just go ahead with programming! Cant shift into D, R or N, Anyone know what happened on cartechnology? I have been away for awhile, I come back now and most of my previous posts and threads are missing! And my few rep points are gone...back to zero |

the E70's EGS has EWS. If you can read EGS, DDE and CAS eeproms and post here we can fix for you. If not you need a specialist.

I seem to have gone about this the wrong way! Perhaps I should have just installed the DME? I installed new DME, CAS, and ignition-key, I still have the original ignition-key and CAS! Can you tell me what the best tool/s for the job will be? I have only been buying what I need as I go! Its my livelihood, so really need to try getting this done myself and learning! but either way I will get the EEPROM read and post |

yes the DDE/DME is the easiest. post original CAS3 and donor DDE/DME eeproms.

if you are starting out, then yes HexProg is okay. I think you can pay for limited licenses.
There are many tools out there, and you should have two tools incase 1 tool does not work or has problems connecting to servers. IMO, hexprog has some issues once in a while, usually software bugs. Sometimes there is not just 1 tool to do everything, so it can be better to find tools that can specialize in different areas. |
