I have VW Touareg from 2015 year with RNS 850 HN+_EU_VW_P0822 soft and &P6060884C ECE 6.22.3

I need to update maps to 8R0060884JN version 6.34.1.

My question is do I need to update software first to version HN + _EU_VW_P0824 or can I install new maps to unit without updating software?

Its better to install P0824 to unlock User-defined automatically, you will need to update new maps. Also you can stay on P0822 it will work but need to unlock Green menu to mark User-defined (check maybe User-defined is unloced in P0822 and no need to do anything).

It's not necessary to update to P0824 before updating to latest 6.34.1 maps, but it's highly recommended.
I did it few weeks ago, sw update took about 1,5 hour and the maps took another 2,5 hours. Don't forget to connect an external charger!

the whole Tuareg update is 2 hours and 20 minutes
software and maps
am maps is 1 hour and 30-40 minutes
40 min software

Sometimes software update needs 1.5 hours. But for maps is too long 2.5 hours. Tested myself many times.

Yes I did it few weeks ago. Software took 1,5 hour, 40 minutes is not enough!
Regarding the maps I started the update, checked after 1,5 hour and it was still updating and when I checked 1 hour later, it was finished. So in my case 1,5 hour for maps was not enough, after a total of 2,5 hours the maps were finished.

Hi. Yesterday I did update in VW Touareg RNS850. All went without problem. I flashed only map v. 6.34.1. I did not update software - I did it with software P0822. Thanks. Regards
