Hello everyone.

I have a 2018 R1200GS.  Using ISTA 4.32, I was able to accidentally flash software that caused a "no communication with engine control" error message.  There are no stored codes, just that error message.

I reconnected my laptop to flash a different version of software to the bike, but I received the following error message:

"The connected vehicle has an unknown data status (works integration level: K001-17-07-513, actual integration level: K001-22-07-506)

This status cannot be processed with ISTA.

Make sure the latest version of ISTA has been installed or contact Technical Support."


Is there a way to determine which version of ISTA is required for K001-22-07-506?

Hello.
After the firmware, does the motor work?

ISTA will no longer help you. ESYS required.
First you need to find a connection with the DME unit.
If you don't know what you're doing, trust your technique to another person who does. Fixing is always harder and more expensive.

I have same message on TFT "No Communication with DME..." I haven't problems about integration Level or unknown status, I made flash with esys and I Step 4.36.40, tryed different firmware (no downgrade) and total re write included BTLD, no changes, it's the same bike as yours.
The motorcycle has a broken exhaust gas actuator in next days it will be changed, also I will upload a 2018 IStep, other step is clone DME if not solve

I'm comfortable with ISTA, but now it sound like I'll have to research ESYS.

Ouch.  That doesn't sound good for either of us. 

I'm disappointed that ISTA would allow me to flash a file that it couldn't handle after I flashed it.  It was my own mistake, but...

4.32 ISTA was released in 2021. You flashed iStep of late 2022!!! The ONLY way that is possible if using OLD ISTA with MUCH NEWER psdzdata!!! Did ISTA itself suddenly managed to update it's psdzdata to such level JUST BY ITSELF??? You should really stop blaming something else for YOUR OWN deeds...

Use proper ISTA for that level and you will have no problems!!!! Old ISTA simply DOESN'T HAVE proper prg files to deal with such new iStep.

Let me know if i can help you with ESYS and your problem, we do a lot of bikes BMW here. Flash a valif ISTEP with ESYS and your problem should be solved. Flashing TFT and Telematics Module takes a lot of time!

Install latest ISTA and see if error still there. If so, ESYS and reflash.
