RE: [S0777] tuning detected
the real question is "how to delete fasta?"
Answer1: restoring a complete full backup. Pros: no tuning messages. Cons: false data set of: engine hours, total consumption (litres of fuel), battery registration, fasta, etc...... so maybe bye bye warranty.
Answer2: it's my question... how to delete fasta? Deleting fasta will assume that all the data set remain valid but only delete the usage statistics.... maybe deleting the annual performace in cbs? I can try... A reflash with same level including btld swfk swfl cafd will not solve the issue, i don't know if with a newer or older level will solve, but i don't think so... i think fasta data will resides in the eeprom (dflash) side of the mcu in continuous overwrite, so it will not change in programming. Maybe trying code default value and injecting cafd again? Or with some eeprom editing? Maybe flashing ori and then drive the car as long as required for a full fasta rewrite?

What if FASTA is read with an offline ISTA first?

RE: [S0777] tuning detected
it changes nothing.... when the car goes to dealer, fasta will be read again

RE: [S0777] tuning detected
Ok, are we absolutely sure tuning detection is based on fasta data evaluation?

TRUE

Did you try with I-step -4×× as well? I'm not sure but it might get flagged in fasta

I’ve tried on one of my customer car.

If you set -400 in the istep, ista does not start the automatic test for the tuning detection.

Tested directly in one of the bmw center in my city.

And what happen if the dealer flash the car? Anyway istep is part of the ista protocol, i doubt that this can be accepted for warranty case

Check the trace file in ista, see what that magic abl do

RE: [S0777] tuning detected
i believe tuning detection is from CVN of DME. Can someone try to bench back up P-Flash D-Flash and EEPROM and then tune dme, and check CVN and reflash dme with ISTA, and recheck CVN and then check again with restore of original bench flash?

RE: [S0777] tuning detected
It happens also with genius obd by dimsport last release and sw, and this one i'm sure don't alter cvn example on f20 b48. Anyway when reflashing full ori with esys, cvn is restored but problem persist, so not related to cvn. The old tune detection method was related to cvn, not this new.

I had (old) 2012 car, F30 with DME MEVD17.2.6.

Read CVN as car came with tuned DME, flashed to stock, owner tuned again with different setup and finally write stock firmware again.

In all cases CVN has same values. CVN not differs.

I don’t ever try… but I think ista refuses to calculate the update
If there are a -400 istep.

It’s only a trick, not a solution for me…

It work if the car go to the dealer for a normal service, but if there are some serius problem the only way i have found is to put the bench backup of the ecu.
