Golf 5 from 2004 and AC does not cool down.


VCDS showing
00819 high pressure sensor (G65)
009 -Open or short to ground


Compressor shutdown code:
17 = Compressor off (no signal or implausible signal from High Pressure Sensor -G65-)





Tested to change sensor 5K0 959126 with Mahle ASE 18 000P, but still same error.
Assuming at something is wrong with wiring.


Can someone be kind and send wiring diagram for AC high pressure sensor ?

you should get 12v and earth, which one are you missing?

The power supply of the sensor is 5v and the output signal to the ecu is about 1.2v to 2.5v,depending of the pressure,check the installations

Looking in electrical wiring and it's connected to "389 Ground Connection 24 (in main wiring harness)", but I can't find where is located that ground point

Does anyone know where is exact location ?
Is there any overview with all ground points on the car ?

UPDATE:
I have cut electrical isolation tape about 30cm in back from sensor connector to check is there any cuts there and I found that complete connector and all 3 wires are changed sometime in the past.
All wires are reconnected with soldering and isolated with heat shrinking tube.

Rechecked all connections and found that ground was bad (soldering looks ok on eye inspection), have fixed that but still have same error.

Voltage on pin3 (positive) is only 1.7-1.8v , should be 5v or 12v ?

One more thing, car have updated manual climatic controls from 2008 car with A/C button (should be ECON, like all pre-2006 Golf), maybe they have different pinouts and that's why difference on voltage ? (tested with climatic panel from 2004 car and it's same)

you will have to provide correct car details first.the voltage you should have is 12v whatever car you have.the signal goes directly to the air conditioner (ecu)I know a direct cable from ecu to G65 if problem still here,please change G65 ONLY WITH ORIGINAL PARTS.many problems with after market.if still here change j301 ecu

Have you done a resistance test on that line? Also, are you using a known good ground for testing or is it that you are using the ground line from that connector?


Using the wire diagram, I would perform some resistance test on the lines on that connector, and when use a known good ground for testing.
