Hi all, this ecu came to me for dpf delete, when I received the ECU , it was clear that it had been opened already, I didn't even have to add heat, the lid just peeled off by hand, I've done a couple of these ECU's in the past with no issues, so I connected kess on the bench and hit I.D, it ID'd no problem and it showed LOCKED, so I went ahead with unlock procedure using ktag, everything seemed to go fine, but when I try to connect kess again I have no communication, I tried pcm clone and still no communication, so drove down to the guy and put it back in the car and still no communication, nightmare, do i need to get him another ECU or is there any way to get this one working again ? I have the original backup eeprom from the ktag unlock saved, any help is appreciated guys, cheers.

I had the same fear after my first unlocking of pcr2.1 via kess. I unlocked without saving the eprom (beginner's error) and after that it was no longer possible to read the eprom. on the other hand with kess on the table (homemade obd can adapter ) I was able to read the id.

Yeah MK2, before unlock I was able to I'd on bench with kess, but not after

AL70 try to connect resistor as in picture attach, check in car if you have diagnosis on ecu

lost for lost why don't you try an injection of eprom (or unlocking) with kess (not ktag)

now him no have connection on ecu because eprom 95640 is corrupt, if with resitor ecu alive in diagnosis him can to write the eprom read before for unlock ecu, in this case can try to unlock ecu with kess on bench
