XZBMW  335i cluster retrofit m57?
Hey guys, is it possible to retrofit a 335 cluster e92 into an 30d 231ps m57n2 12/2006

Just want to code oil temperature, since his old cluster doesn't work. Not even cooling temperature.

Using toolbox.

You will not get the "function" only with replacing the cluster.
If there is a Oil-temp-sensor you can activate it with toolbox, otherwise you will get water temp.shown instead.

But ive coded it with toolbox an none of both showed, no water and no oil, the gauge just didnt move at all. What could be the problem ?

So the car has a coolant temperature sensor, we can display the values in the secret menu, but why does it show nothing on the gauge after using toolbox ?

I have E90 330xd with N57 engine an oil temp also not working.

AFIAK in our situation DDE is not sending oil temp information over canbus and therefor we cannot activate.

Cluster and coding is not problem.
When you test some value for oil temp the cluster is working but when you start engine you have nothing

These engines support oil temp.

Software of DDE.
DDE transmit message with id 0x1D0 that contains bytes for water temerature, oil temperature ...etc.
All E90 have normal value in byte for water temp, but in our case byte for oil temp is always FF and therefor cluster doesn't receive information for oil temp.

i don't understand but i don t have such a problem. cluster works all the time, engine running or not

maybe it has to do with the chart above
