E60 airbag light on dash but no errors on ista/inpa
Hi guys.
I have here one 2004 E60 with airbag light on dash (the small light only, not the big on CB), but i have no errors on ista. I've coded every single airbag module (SBSL, SBSR, SIM etc) and all seems fine but the damn light won't go out. Any ideias? Thanks |

on early E60, the preflight check might take extra long to turn off warning light after start up.
can you post a photo of your control unit tree and fault list? |

If there really isn't any error codes related to airbag in ISTA I would open the cluster to check that there isn't any monkey business inside it. People do all kinds of things to get the light out and some ghetto fix might have failed causing the light be on constantly.

Spirit5676 could be correct, a guy once asked me to swap his airbag light with the brake pad warning light just to get the car through the test but he never came back to have it reversed, which means that when his brake pads fail, the airbag light will come on, worth having a look

So I check that in cases like these. |

Maybe try coding the Kombi.

I flash it and coded, but it still shows the error. There's someting strange with airbag modules. I update them all, then coded. After that, i cleared all errors and then i have a few errors on SBSL, related to head restrain system. I checked wires, and they were disconnected. I compared the coding before update and default coding, and apparently someone had them coded out. Coded them out also, SRS light is still on, but on yellow. Check errors, and i see now the error is related to "few messages", from SBSL and SGM/SIM. I managed to clear all errors, but i believe the light will come after a while. I do got battery warning on dash after a while, but no error on ista also... Thanks for your help guys. |

Did you have to code them out from both SBSL and SGM? Few message error might be to do with the inconsistency between the 2 units?
