I know its not officiall by the book.
i wanted to install 2 memory seats in f30, i already did it and they are fully working.

my issue is making the FEM recognize that there are two SM2, when i need to code one of them i disconnect the other, so my question is there a way to change the diagnostic address of one SM2 ?
so i can communicate in a proper way and the memory works correctly?

Driver module have one ground cable from car on pin 8 (A245*3B plug with can wires), passenger module have same groud like driver on pin 8 (A246*3B plug with can wires) but have another second ground on pin 2 (A246*3B plug with can wires). Thats told the module to be a passenger module with other adress in network.

You need to additionally connect the ground to pin 2 on the right seat, in the socket where the power is connected. The ground at pin 2 is optional, the main ground at pin 8 remains. Thus the control unit understands that it is installed in the passenger seat, respectively marked as SMBF and immediately has a different address in the diagnosis!!!

I’m interested in this retrofit as well. Do I need to replace that 4 drive motors for the seat movement? Compared the wiring diagram, each drive motor had 4pin with memory, and only 2pin for without memory.

Yes you have to get motors with memory, driver side control unit and some wiring according to newtis or bmwtis
