VAS6154 Wifi Channel 8 problem
Hi All,

Does anybody experienced problem on channel 8 with genuine VAS6154? When I configure wifi access point mode (direct connection) on channel 8 I'm getting horrible long responses and even timeouts when trying ping interface via ping from commandline. Also ODIS is throwing vehicle disconnected and red signal bar. When I will use different channel for example 7 it is working like charm.

This was tested on multiple laptops and on multiple locations so wifi interference is ruled out.

VAS6154 was also factory reset multiple times. Could this mean HW malfunction of WIFI module?

I have never been able to use 6054 in a stable way in wifi mode, red signal bar comes every 1-2 minutes, tested with different wifi networks, in direct mode or under network.
Solution? Use the nice, fast and stable USB cable wink

I never had an issue with my oem 6154....using it only over wifi. No issues at all.

Hi are you using also access point mode? If yes which channel?

You have to use a free channel that is not used by any wifi near you, to find it you need to use a WiFi Scanner program, google it.

yes, any channel works. But I am using it in WLAN infrastructure mode because of the online sessions.

Yes I know all this thing is there is no channel 8 in use near and I also tested it in multiple places to be sure. Result is channel 8 is not working stable. I do not know if this is kind of VAS6154 firmware bug or HW problem.

Choose in configuration 5GHz option. In the bottom of the list, I guess 3 items on bottom has 5GHz. I guess, it was channel 40 ...

Scrolle down through the list.

You will see difference ! It works in both connection modes smile

Yes but 2,4GHz should have better distance and barriers penetration. By seeing big difference you mean it is faster?
