A month ago, I brought a 2016 G11 from Germany. It has almost all the connectivity options (6AE, 6AK, 6AM, 6AN, 6AP, 6AR, 6FV, 6WD and more) but I won't be able to purchase a data plan for the vehicle because Deutsche Telekom, who is the sole provider for Wi-Fi Hotspot service, says that this vehicle is not supported. Probably a geolocation thing or what not. Maybe someone has more information on that as well.

From my research, it seems like I can get the vehicle connected with the internet by sharing the connection from my phone. If I'm not mistaken it is called BMW Live. I would also like to get BMW Apps working.

I have Esys with BimmerUtility but I'm not sure how to proceed with enabling those features. Hope someone can give me guidance on necessary VO and FDL coding. If I'm not mistaken, BMW Apps also require FSC.

you can use Feature installer codes to activate Apps, Carplay, Screen mirroring etc..

but then, as with the F models, the HU for bimmercode and co is blocked because no OEM FSC are used
