Reducing coolant temp, BMW N42 1037351578 0261209005
Hello guys,

looking for the coolant maps KFETRT KFETRD as the engine runs quite hot at 106-107°C. Anyone know where to find these maps? First one should be 8x8 and second 6x6.

Kind regards
Daniel

the temp is ok , old cars properly works with 90°C temperature , newer cars for better engine efficiency works in higher temps

Well, thats not my question.

This section of the forum is about automotive tuning, not automotive repair. If the temps are set high and i wanny lower it, it´s all about the ecu config.

someone will give you some stupid idea about two maps at mhh and magic will happen.
whit this you will get only the fan run early when the car is at stop....
you will need this

DTANSETR
DTMETR
KFETRD
DVFZETR
KFETRT
TAETRMN
VFZETR

to change it when drive it.

but then comes the next problem
VFZETR
this is monitoring the speed of the vehicle when to operate the electro coupling, so if the car runs on 107 it will continue to run on 107.
If get high temp when drive then this TWETRS  kicks in wink so then you have a problem with the car.
with this what you want you will only get the fan to work constantly when the car is at stop....nothing else ..
someone clever than us make this calculations wink

TWETRS is set to 84°C, no problem smile If i´m not totally mistaken, both maps mentioned are used to define the set temp via thermostat. If they are set stock to 106°C the ecu will close the thermostat until it reaches setpoint +/- hysteresis.

If i lower the setpoint in both maps, it will just open the thermostat earlier. If it means the fan needs to be turned on at ~99°C, so it may be.

just info......the thermostat is mechanical wink so the ecu dos not have to open anything wink i am guessing the part number but if i have guess right it open on 107c wink so you will have fan working endlessly with no efect  wink any other discussion is pointless  secret

Interesting, i can see two wires going to the thermostat wink

Thermostat is mechanical with a pre loaded spring, the two wires that come out is the check to see if its opened or closed.
If you want cooler coolant temp replace thermostat or modify yours with stiffer spring to make it open at lower temps.

my friend
You refuse to understand what i tell you
you cant even read a diagram but you want to mess up the ecu sw
this is sign for variable resistor   fail
