here is the vmware diagbox 9.146 virtual machine. totally free. I tried with my interface and it works great, updates to follow. before starting the virtual machine, delete the internet connection.
tested and worked with VMware Workstation 17 Pro.

Download and install vmware 17 and When I open Diagbox, it says that it is not activated.
How do I activate it, or do I make it work?

You can't.
9.146 (and 9.149) are blocked for use in a VM (if it is from a French source that is well-known for DiagBox releases).

But, you can get a HWID license from the creator for a very low fee. Install is native, you won't need a VM.

Or continue using VM with 9.129.
