e-SYS ICOM/Ethernet Unable to Connect
Back in March 2022 I was able to connect to my G07 just fine.

What's changed since March 2022?
Installed all the MS updates, installed the latest version of Tokenmasters Launcher, replaced the pszdata with the latest and installed the last version of ISTA+ from Sedoy.  I've also turned off all the Firewalls and Virus Protection that MS turns on by default.

Configuration:
I use the dhcpsvr.exe so I don't have to have an external router.  My .ini file looks like:

[SETTINGS]
IPPOOL_1=192.168.0.10-254
IPBIND_1=192.168.0.1
AssociateBindsToPools=1
Trace=1
DeleteOnRelease=0
ExpiredLeaseTimeout=3600

[GENERAL]
LEASETIME=86400
NODETYPE=8
SUBNETMASK=255.255.0.0
NEXTSERVER=192.168.0.1
ROUTER_0=0.0.0.0

[DNS-SETTINGS]
EnableDNS=0

[TFTP-SETTINGS]
EnableTFTP=0
ROOT=C:\dhcpsrv\wwwroot
WritePermission=0

[C4-BA-99-0C-05-04]
IPADDR=192.168.0.10
AutoConfig=01/12/2023 20:58:31
Hostname=ICOM2135146
LeaseEnd=1673651070
Index=1

I've attached the dhcpsvr trace file, in it, you can see it's giving the ICOM an ip address.

I forgot to get a screen shot but my ICOM is set to enable DHCP and I've attached a photo of its version.  It's an OEM ICOM.

The local ethernet connection plugged into the ICOM on my local machine has an assigned ip address, it's not using DHCP.

I have attached photos of my iToolRadar, in which I Reserve the ICOM prior to trying to connect with e-SYS.  I've also attached screenshots of my connection dialog and error dialog.

ISTA+ works no problem, I even checked the ip that ISTA is using and it's the same that's in the e-SYS connection dialog.

I did find some posts that people mentioned they some how lost the port or the port 50160 was closed but I didn't see how they knew that or how they got it to work.  I also tried using the gateway URL to connect and it failed as well, I saw the port in iToolRadar details and thought I'd give it a try.

Does anyone see something I'm not?  I've been trying to get this to work for two days, maybe I'm just missing something.  Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

RE: e-SYS ICOM/Ethernet Unable to Connect
In case anyone finds this in the future, there is a way to get it working. I read on another forum that when this happens, iToolRadar isn't able/doesn't open port 50160 when you reserve the ICOM. The way around it is too open ISTA+ and do a Complete identification prior to trying to connect using e-Sys.

I used Nmap to verify this is the case, if you run the command in Nmap, nmap -sT <ip in iToolRadar> prior to connecting with ISTA+ and Reserving the ICOM in iToolRadar, these are the only ports open:

PORT STATE SERVICE
22/tcp open ssh
80/tcp open http

If you do the Complete identification via ISTA+, which Reserves the ICOM in iToolRadar, and run the same nmap command, you can see the ports are open:

PORT STATE SERVICE
22/tcp open ssh
80/tcp open http
5302/tcp open hacl-cfg
6801/tcp open acnet
6802/tcp open unknown
50160/tcp open unknown
51560/tcp open unknown
58000/tcp open unknown
60080/tcp open unknown

Probably something to do with a Windows 10 update because back in March 2022, I was able to connect directly using just e-Sys. Anyway, hope this might help someone in the future.

I've never had to do any of this including reserving the ICOM. Try just disabling your windows firewall again for whatever network 192.168.0.0 is such as Public, Private, Domain is detected as when you connect. Windows has a really bad habit of reenabling the firewall after Windows Updates and reboots. Once the ICOM gets an IP, you should be able to connect via VIN in the E-Sys connect dialogue.

Thanks [Image: tyl_add.png] + [Image: postbit_reputation.gif] reputation if I helped you.

RE: e-SYS ICOM/Ethernet Unable to Connect
I'm having issues with IToolRadar as well. If I connect via the Ethernet connection of my laptop and disable WiFi, it does not see the ICOM and I have to reserve it using the webinterface.
For esys I usually just use a cable or WiFi bridge.

Thanks for your input, I will give it another try, maybe turn them back on and then off again, maybe I missed something, thanks!

RE: e-SYS ICOM/Ethernet Unable to Connect
Do you set anything in the ethernet settings?
Because its not necessary

If you want to be sure
I would prefere

Install a fresh clean windows and all have to work fine

The only settings I have for my ethernet settings is a static IP.  I did that to use the dhcpsvr.exe instead of having to use an external router.

I backed up the laptop in March after I get everything working correctly.  I could restore that backup and maybe turn off windows updates.  I'm convinced it's something with the tablet but can't figure out why or what changed.
