I need help from someone who understands MMI 3G adaptation/coding issues. It turns out that I had to change the MMI 3G navigator due to a breakdown and I found a second-hand one in good condition, I have mounted it and apparently it works, but of course it is not adapted to the vehicle and there are several functions that go, for example the rear camera, the Bang&Olussen sound and the browser itself does not recognize the DVD.

My vehicle is a 2014 Audi A5 Cabrio, and my experience with VAG-COM reduced to clearing four faults.

If someone could explain to me how to do it or if there is any trick that will help me, I would be very grateful.

I have read that I have to unlock the MMI first, but the only thing I can find is to unlock the video in motion http://trick77.com/tools/mmi3g_vimcode.php.

Maybe you post a autoscan from VCDS (Vag-COM) or some error memory protocol. To get help, there can be 1000 variants of errors from wrong coding over wrong adaption and also can protocol settings or protocol switch and we have to know what is wrong to solve it, and this community should also get the solutions. it depends which coding the replacement unit has and which equipment/ecus your car has. maybe we can do it here together.

best is, when it is possible to have a coding backup of old unit and backup of adaptions channels, then you can copy it and most errors should be gone. If someone with knowledge will do it, it can take up to 3 hours. When he has to describe it remote it will take up to one day and can be hard. someone need to have time for it.

With unlock i think it is component protection so when you have vas5054 it can be done remote with odis and online connection, with vcp it is possible to copy from old unit when it is reachable. When you dont have those tools only Audi can unlock it in workshop or one near your location with those tools.

Easy way - if your replacement unit matches original - read eeprom from the ori and transfer to new unit - that way you dont do any coding or component protection.

Make a backup of donor unit eeprom aswell
