Info on 2019 and up GM trucks and SUVs
For those wanting to edit mileage in 2019 up GM trucks and SUVs, and it may apply to earlier years.
BCM may be easy for the mileage, hours are stored in the dash with no manual solution, but some tools can do the hours. Don't ask me what tools, because I do not know for sure. The big caveat! Mileage is regularly reported and stored at GM servers through Onstar even without an Onstar subscription. Made an appointment today for my regular oil change on my 2021 Silverado Trail Boss at the local dealer and their database showed the current mileage. I only had one free month of Onstar when I bought it, and never subscribed after the free time expired. 
If someone took the time to help you, the least you can do is take a few seconds and press two buttons!
