Bmw F30 330e software update and real mileage
Hi,
One thing I wonder is if with this hybrid model do I need a charger to update the car? I mean, I saw somewhere that the plug-in home charger work to charge all batteries and not only the HV battery. So starting from that idea, I would like to know if that home charger can be sufficient to perform a software update on the car...? The second thing I want to know is if it's possible to see the total mileage of the gaz engine and the electric motor separately..? May be with ista or another software? Or may be in car via secret menu? Mine is F30 from 2017. Thanks! |

NO!!! You need PROPER 12V power supply. Internal DC/DC converter will be DISABLED as soon as car is switched to programming mode.
Why wouldn't it be disabled? It's one of flashable units. Same with HV charging module. That will also be disabled. And you WILL get faults if you are programming with mains charger connected... On G30 you can see total distance and electric only distances in the on board computer. Can't you see that of F30? |

Same if I want to flash only one ecu at the time using esys? For example a backup camera ecu or the head unit or something like that? Concerning the mileage, no I can't see anything nowhere, I see only total mileage of the car or the "trip" mileage which I can reset, or the autonomy left but that's it... Not that many F series hybrids here, so I don't know about your second question. Have you tried to look into live data of DME and/or EME?

At F series plugin hybrid and G30 before 07/2019 you can not read the E-km in car, or with ISTA. You need special job in Tool32.

I did it once and I'm not going to repeat it, I was afraid for my vehicle. |
