I am trying to get root access on a "607a" to see whether I can convert it to a "606a" tablet. I have a "606a" tablet that I was able to get root on (using Dr.Fone - root" so that I could install "su" to then dump the partitions and then play with "adb" and "fastboot". Both hte Go7a and 606a are running Android 5.1.1.

The issue I have with the 607a is that:

a. Dr Fone - root fails saying the device cannot be rooted. I had it rooted previously when it was running Kitkat 4.4.4 but lost root access when it upgraded to 5.1.1 (the whole /system partition gets erased and re-written during the update.
b. When I load the tablet into fastboot mode, I see via the "fastboot getvar all" that the following three properties are set:

(bootloader) secure: no
(bootloader) unlocked: yes
(bootloader) rdc-flags: 0000000000000101

however on the 606a that was successfully rooted these properties are:

(bootloader) secure: yes

(bootloader) unlocked: no
(bootloader) rdc-flags: 0000000000000000

c. When I try and load a different bootloader (these tablets are Nvidia Tegra3", a validation check flashes up on the screen and says: 

   
   
   

What is strange is I can flash partitions via "fastboot" but obviously only those that the bootloader has available.... When I try to boot an alternate Tegra3 bootloader it has a validation error...  When I try and boot the 606a tablet bootloader partition I also get the same error. It appears to me I must be missing some sort of header and can't just use the raw partition to boot from?

Also, I can use the "fastboot oem lock" and it brings up a "don't lock/lock" menu option on the SDIS tablet but it has no affect... 

Any ideas as to how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.
