Hello together,

I am not able to do diagnostic to a MINI R50 aka R52 convertible Cooper S.


Neither with ISTA possible, tried USB DCAN cable with adapter and genuine ICOM.

With NCS Expert and INPA, I can only connect to EMS, LWS, MK60 and RIP.
With NCS Expert, I cant read ZCS from EWS, only from KMB, but cant read the KMB.

By chance I saw that the two outer brake lights are on if ignition is turned off - but this didnt happen often.

Any thoughs, someone experience?

Contact me. I need check-in. Can you try to make an ignition by making a bridge between Pin 1 and Pin16.

Putting ignition on is possible, car is able to start and dirves.

Disconnect battery and reconnect. KOMBI often gets in a state where diagnosis is no longer possible.

But you would be able to read KOMBI since it's the gateway. Even with a shorted K-bus, it is possible to read KOMBI.

I had one once that had corroded k-bus connector behind os sill trim/carpet which stopped various ecus from responding. Also Cd changer wiring in boot is another common cause.

Pins 7&8 bridged on your K+DCAN? If not it will not read if using BMW protocols
