Hello Guys i normally use other tools for fem and bdc but today i tried dp4 for the first time on mini f56 as i was advised it was a good stable tool on bdc but it seems otherwise as im stuck now after 1st stage of prepare eprom


   


1. I plug into car by obd check version is supported which its ok

2. I take car battery off car remove BDC take apart and carefully clean chip 95256 surface ready for c12 clip.

3. I carry out prepare eprom with dp4 which appears to go successfully eprom is backed up also.

4. I reassemble BDC put fuses back in and cover in connect plug 7 and 8 to bdc ignition simulator and apply 12v with obd cable plugged to obd simulator port .

5. I go to check version just to confirm coms it reads out this data though now and says "Incorrect data" warning message

6. I decide to proceed anyway to the next "Prepare flash obd" part as maybe thats all it needs but unfortunately it just says again warning message "Incorrect Data" doesn't seem to do anything just displays

Does anyone know where to go from here to repair it do i need to go to restore eprom by c12 to try to get it back or do i go to the last option "recovery" ? if i cick recovery in dp4 it brings up a list of swfl files and i can see the file 00002419-062.010.020 in dp4s list of back up recovery sw files.

I would recommend to flash it with esys and not with DP4, after recovery try another tool

Guys i fixed it by loading the eprom backup dump back on the to the 95256. Then proceeded to use ACDP instead which has worked seamlessly.
