BMW F10 Engine Swap 245 to 258 PS
I have one F10 where only engine is swapped from 245 to 258 PS, ECU and wiring harness is the same.
What else must to be changed for engine to work properly? 245 PS is with EDC17CP45 and 258 PS is with EDC17C56! NBT EVO Apple CarPlay Full Screen, Navigation, Video in Motion, SSH, CP

I don't have VIN from donor, only from present car!

Engine with EDC17CP45 use piezo injectors, EDC17C56 use electromagnetic injectors. Both version use different fuel lines to injectors and different rail (not sure for rail). Finally turbocharger use different controllers. And couple others small differences.

That means to tell to the customer to search for 245 PS engine or ECU and harness from 258 PS?

The engine block is exactly the same in both versions, i.e. N57D30A. The only differences are as described.

When you can reuse your cylinderhead swap it. Do your self a favour and dont Switch to Facelift engine. It is too much Work and you car isnt anymore original. Dont know 245ps Model got also different egr and so on
Edit: the Short engine has a different Layout. So you have to use other ecu, Magnet injector, Even the wiring harness can be diffrent because other egr system and turbo. |
